I need to be making more money.
Seriously. I work two jobs right now, earning above minimum wage for both. And yet, I'm stuck sharing an apartment with three other girls and a dog.
Last paycheck, I worked about one hundred and ten hours (two weeks). All together, I earned 710 dollars after taxes.
That is both paychecks.
That is both jobs.
That is bullshit.
I'd like to know which presidential candidate is going to raise the minimum wage to something I can actually live off of. Please correct me if I'm mistaking, but I thought that, in theory, somebody working 40 hours a week earning minimum wage should be able to afford to live independently. Even if it's minimal (obviously). Is that just my own wishful thinking? It's obviously untrue.
