  • I have an important job interview on Saturday! I hope I get it, it's at a salon and it would be perfect for me right now. I really need money to buy everyone I love Christmas presents.

However, I'm going to miss being able to do nothing all day. I love being lazy (even though I would rather do nothing with a someone...). This is what my days currently consist of:

    Sleep in.

    Eat breakfast.

Go online to xanga, email, etc.

Take the dogs for a walk.

    Read.

    Watch Opra.

    Take a nap.

Wake up for my 4 hour work shift.

    Repeat.

It's nice to be able to relax for most of the day. Especially since I'm used to having two jobs and working 50+ hours a week. If I do get this job, I still won't make enough to live decently. So, it looks like (hopefully!) I'll be back to two jobs, never a single day off, running off of caffeine, and keeping half of my closet in my car for a smooth transition between both jobs.

    Yay.

  • My life is a mess.

    I'm a barista.

Never in a million years would I imagine that this is where I would be right now. I have 800 dollars. I make about 500 a month. I'm single, not dating, broke, no college education, and about two real friends. Five years ago, no one would ever dream of me being in this situation. Especially myself.

I used to be that girl. You know? I was in honor classes, I took A.P classes, sports, you name it. I went to school, then practice whatever sport I was in, then home to do homework. I went to church. Youth group once a week. Mom made dinner every night, bla bla.

It's depressing. I don't know what to do because I don't know what I want.

    I live in Escon-fucking-dido.

    And I'm a fucking barista.

  • I googled my ex.

Stuff about him on the tennis team. Bla, bla.

    I googled my sister.

Stuff about her being on the dance team.

I googled my other two sisters.

         School plays, honor classes.

    I googled myself.

         My brother came up.

  • Oh good. I'm awake at 3am, can't sleep (see Oct. 23 entry).

I came across my horoscope. Let's see what is in store for me today...

Do not be surprised if your road to romance takes a little bit of a detour today -- but you cannot let yourself become disheartened about it. Just roll with it. The changes you will be going through over the next several days will be for the best, no matter how icky they feel at the time. Stay hopeful and stay cheerful.

Thanks yahoo astrology! Good to know that my road to romance, which does not exist in the first place, is about to get worse. The lack of men in my life is about to be absolutely zip.

    Lets see what horoscope.com says:

Money could be a source of tension today for you luxury loving Taureans. It’s quite simple: you haven’t got enough cash, and you want more! But, think, what do you need the extra cash for? The planets suggest that your current streak of extravagance won’t really serve you well, so avoid the malls!

See my entry 15 minutes ago. I did not need the stars to tell me that I have no money. I'd like them to tell me that a grip of money is coming in my future.

Xanga makes me pessimistic. Or is it realistic?

  • I need to be making more money.

Seriously. I work two jobs right now, earning above minimum wage for both. And yet, I'm stuck sharing an apartment with three other girls and a dog.

Last paycheck, I worked about one hundred and ten hours (two weeks). All together, I earned 710 dollars after taxes.

    That is both paychecks.

    That is both jobs.

    That is bullshit.

I'd like to know which presidential candidate is going to raise the minimum wage to something I can actually live off of. Please correct me if I'm mistaking, but I thought that, in theory, somebody working 40 hours a week earning minimum wage should be able to afford to live independently. Even if it's minimal (obviously). Is that just my own wishful thinking? It's obviously untrue.

    minimum wage
    n.
    1. The lowest wage, determined by law or contract, that an employer may pay an employee for a specified job.
    2. See living wage.

    Living wage
    n.   A wage sufficient to provide minimally satisfactory living conditions. Also called minimum wage.

    Hmmm.....

I know there are jobs out there for me that don't require a college degree and will pay me enough, I just have no fucking idea what and where they are. Can anybody help me?
